Step 1 – Create a Room: Open the sidebar (tap the ☰ button on mobile/tablet), enter your room’s width and length, give it an optional name, then tap + Create Room. You can create multiple rooms and arrange them freely on the canvas.
Step 2 – Draw Walls (desktop): In the Draw Walls panel, click Draw Wall, then click points on the canvas to place wall segments. Hold Shift to snap to horizontal or vertical. Double-click to finish an open wall, or click your starting point to close the shape and fill it with a hatch pattern.
Step 2 – Draw Walls (mobile/tablet): Tap Draw Wall in the sidebar, then press and drag anywhere inside a room. A live rectangle preview appears as you drag, showing the exact width and height. Lift your finger to place the wall. Drag a larger area for a bigger wall — small taps are ignored.
Step 3 – Add Furniture: Enter a name, real-world width and depth, pick a color, and tap Add Furniture. Drag pieces from the list onto the canvas, then tap to select, rotate, or resize them with the on-canvas handles.
Navigating the Canvas: On desktop, use the scroll bars. On mobile/tablet, drag with two fingers simultaneously to pan around the canvas.
Measurement Units: Choose Imperial (in) or Metric (m/cm) via the top-right toggle. In imperial mode, ft + in shows labels as feet and inches (e.g. 3′ 6″) while in only shows total fractional inches (e.g. 42½″).
Saving & Loading: Tap Save to download your layout as a .floorplan file, Open to reload it, and Print for a clean canvas export.

I'm Sahand Shafieha, a Statistics and Data Science graduate (Class of 2026) from UC Santa Barbara. I like building things that are simple, easy to use, and to the point.
The idea for this project came from my mom. When we moved into our new apartment, she sketched a simple layout of our living room, measured each piece of furniture, and cut out paper pieces to scale. Then she tested different layouts on paper instead of physically moving furniture around, which saved a lot of time and effort.
Most "design your room" apps are either overly complicated or require creating an account, only to fall short of what you actually needed. This project is my attempt at something simpler: no clutter, no signup, just a fast way to plan a room.
Special thanks to my mom for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy using this app, and stay tuned for more features and improvements!
